Interested in writing a book but not sure where to start? This will be a panel discussion with 3 dietitian authors who will provide their expertise on how to write for pay and recognition. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to talk with the experts and start writing a book of your own!

Through this 90 minute webinar, participants will learn to:
1. Identify pros and cons of book publishing with a traditional publisher versus publishing independently
2. Identify professional resources for writers
3. Identify at least three parts of a winning magazine query letter

Jill Weisenberger, MS, RDN, CDE, FAND has worked as both a nutrition counselor and a diabetes educator in the hospital and research settings, and now in private practice in Newport News, VA. She is the author of Diabetes Weight Loss – Week by Week, The Overworked Person’s Guide to Better Nutrition, and 21 Things You Need to Know about Diabetes and Your Heart. Jill contributes articles to a variety of publications including The Diabetes Experience, Diabetic Living, Environmental Nutrition, Today’s Dietitian, and Kids Eat Right. She is a frequent guest on television and radio and is often quoted in web and print publications as a nutrition and diabetes expert.

Connie Evers is a registered dietitian who specializes in child and adolescent health and is the author of How to Teach Nutrition to Kids, 4th ed. and Nutrition Fun with Brocc & Roll, 2nd ed. These resources are used in thousands of schools and programs as a framework for nutrition education. She is also the author of the Disney children’s book, Good for You! Nutrition Book & Games (Disney Learning, ©2006).
Her next book (due in 2015) is an interactive cookbook co-authored with Chef Marshall O’Brien titled Show me How to Cook!™
She is also the dietitian for Pediatric Associates of the Northwest, a general pediatric practice in Portland, Oregon. In this preventive, wellness-focused position, she teaches classes and counsels children, teens and families.
Connie was named the 2013 Outstanding Dietitian of the Year by the Oregon Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
Connie graduated with honors from the University of Nebraska and completed her dietetic internship and Master of Science degree in nutrition from the University of Iowa. She currently resides in the Portland, Oregon area.

Karen Ansel, M.S., R.D., C.D.N. is a nutrition consultant, speaker journalist and author. She is the co-author of three books, The Calendar Diet: A Month by Month Guide to Losing Weight While Living Your Life, Healthy In A Hurry: Simple, Wholesome Recipes for Every Meal of the Day and the 2011 IACP finalist, The Baby & Toddler Cookbook: Fresh, Homemade Foods for a Healthy Start. Her work has been published in national magazines including Cooking Light, EatingWell, Prevention, Fitness, Women’s Health, Yoga Journal, Woman’s Day and O, The Oprah Magazine. Karen is also a contributing editor for Woman’s Day magazine.
Karen is a graduate of Duke University where she majored in psychology. She received her Masters of Science in clinical nutrition from New York University. She lives in Long Island, New York with her husband and two daughters.
