Call for Editor for a Food and Medication Interaction Resource

The NDEP Council is excited to announce a partnership with the Academy to develop a Food and Medication Interaction Resource! NDEP is looking for an RDN credentialed editor to work on this multi-year project! Below are the responsibilities and qualifications of this possible editor.
Roles and Responsibilities of an Editor for the Food and Medication Interaction Resource:
- Assist in establishing the vision and presentation of the content, including the proposed table of contents and appendices
- Recommend and assist in recruiting contributing authors
- Make assignments to contributing authors (with support from NDEP and Academy) and consult with authors on presentation of content, references etc
- Receive draft manuscripts and review content; if acceptable, submit to Academy for peer review
- Receive compiled peer review comments from the Academy; review and modify as needed, and guide contributing authors in addressing comments
- Receive and review revised manuscript; if acceptable, submit to Academy for publication
- Contribute some of the book’s opening content: write introduction/preface and contribute additional content as possible
- Review and answer queries from copyeditor; review page proofs prior to publication
Required Qualifications:
- An RDN with at least 5 years of experience working in the clinical setting and working with drug-nutrient interactions
- Experience writing for peer-reviewed journals and/or books
- Highly organized with ability to collaborate and communicate with multiple authors at various stages of development and revision
- Evidence of strong clinical knowledge/experience
- Advanced degree and/or specialty certification
