Online Childhood Hunger and Obesity Discussion

Help celebrate September as national Hunger Action Month and Childhood Obesity Month by participating in an important, online discussion about childhood nutrition. The Academy is teaming up with its partners to host an interactive, grassroots town hall about childhood hunger and obesity. Special guest Sam Kass, White House Assistant Chef and Senior Policy Advisor for Healthy Food Initiatives, will take questions and discuss current programs and initiatives aimed at fighting hunger and obesity.
Followed by Mr. Kass, Mary Pat Raimondi MS, RD – Vice President for Strategic Policy and Partnerships for the Academy will participate in a roundtable discussion with representatives from Feeding America and Voices for America’s Children. The group will discuss opportunities and challenges to making progress on child nutrition in our communities and Congress.
The Academy takes a leading role in these types of policy-driven opportunities because of our commitment to improving the lives of Americans through food and nutrition. We encourage you to participate in what is sure to be and informative and exciting event.
