Research DPG Award Opportunities


Friday, May 12, 2017 - Thursday, June 15, 2017 Research DPG is offering several award opportunities for the 2017-2018 membership year. Also, visit our website (ResearchDPG.org) and click on Apply for Awards to review eligibility criteria, application forms, and additional details. Application deadlines are in May and June depending on the award. Questions can be sent to rdpgawards@gmail.com.  All applicants are required to have a 2017-2018 RDPG membership.  
 
Emerging Researcher Author Award  
First Author Award 
Student Research Abstract Award ($500)
The Sugar Association/Research DPG Pilot Grant ($10,000)
The Sugar Association/Research DPG Faculty Project Grant Award ($2,000)
The Sugar Association/Research DPG Student Project Award ($1,000)
 
Emerging Researcher Author Award.  Members eligible to apply for this recognition award must be listed as the first author on a peer reviewed scientific paper and must also be a current student or be no more than 8 years past completion of their highest conferred degree.  Papers must have been published between May 15, 2016 and May 15, 2017. The application deadline is May 15.

First Author Award.  Any RDPG member listed as first author on a peer reviewed scientific paper is eligible to apply for this recognition award.  Papers must have been published between May 15, 2016 and May 15, 2017.  The application deadline is May 15.

Student Research Abstract Award.  Undergraduate and graduate students listed as first author on a research abstract accepted for presentation at FNCE® are eligible to apply for one $500 recognition award.  Recipients are required to attend FNCE® and present their research during the RDPG member breakfast.  The application deadline is June 15.

The Sugar Association/Research DPG Pilot Grant*.  This award is a $10,000 research grant supported by funds generously donated by Sugar Association.  All members are eligible to apply; however, student members must have a research mentor.  The application deadline is June 15.

The Sugar Association/Research DPG Faculty Project Grant Award*. This award is a $2,000 research project grant supported by funds generously donated by the Sugar Association.  All members with faculty status are eligible to apply. The application deadline is June 15.

The Sugar Association/Research DPG Student Project Award*. This award is a $1,000 research project grant supported by funds generously donated by Sugar Association.  All members with student status during the 2017-18 membership year are eligible to apply. Applicants for this award must have a research mentor.  The application deadline is June 15.

*The Sugar Association is the official sponsor of the “The Sugar Association/Research DPG Pilot Grant Program”, “The Sugar Association/Research DPG Faculty Project Grant Award”, and “The Sugar Association/Research DPG Student Project Award.” The award winners will be selected by the Research DPG Awards Committee independent of the sponsor and based solely on the criteria found on the Research DPG website.
